Full-time Adult Program and Hospitality Coordinator
The Quogue Library is looking for an Adult Program and Hospitality Coordinator to
oversee, plan, promote, and run adult, family, and senior programs. We want someone
focused on our local community who can offer a wide variety of educational and
engaging events that meet the interests of Quogue Library residents.
Responsibilities include:
Program Planning: Plan and run adult, family, and senior programs. Negotiate and write
up contracts. Work with East-End programmers.
Supervise Programs: Schedule and supervise staff, host programs, oversee setup and
cleanups.
Marketing: Collaborate with PR Dept on publicity of library programs.
Budget & Ordering: Maintain programming budget. Order food and supplies needed for
events, including staff events.
Hospitality & Extras: Handle hospitality tasks, including staff recognition, seasonal
decorating inside and outside of the building. Keep building neat and organized.
Garden: Responsible for plantings of the pollinator and vegetable garden, maintenance
and harvesting.
Professional Growth: Attend training workshops pertaining to the job.
Requirements:
Creative Thinker: Researcher who designs, evaluates, and reinvents programs and
programmers based on community interests.
Organization: Strong planning and organizational skills.
People Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills. You should be a self-motivated team player
who takes initiative and can work independently.
Tech Skills: Good tech skills required. You must be comfortable using AV equipment,
PA systems, and Zoom.
Communication: Strong speaking and writing skills. Must be comfortable speaking to an
audience.
Education: Minimal Associate degree preferred. Library experience a plus.
Hours and Benefits:
Full-Time (35+ hours/week. Includes some evening and weekend hours, especially in
the summer. Offers some flexibility.)
Pay Rate: $26.00 – $31.00 per hour (based on experience)
NYSHIP Empire Medical Plan, 90% paid by Library.
Dental/Vision Plan is available
